So flippin’ hot down here. Humid, sticky and buggy.

I got the tour of all the sets and saw some rehearsals yesterday. The kitchen that we get to work out of is just a big old kitchen, nothing special there. But apparently we’re moving to a big fancy real kitchen this week. All in all its quiet, sunny and pretty down here. The people are sweet and atmosphere is relaxed.

Vosges event was filled with enthusiastic faces, hungry stomachs and very happy people. I’m really happy I was a part of making something delicious happen.

So I made these fluffy dumpling magnets. They’re cute and super strong to hold up all your important refrigerator door items.

Sonjia was too kind to help wrap dumplings. We made four different shaped dumplings… Mmm

Dump School’s been hired to cater a film set down in Houma, LA an hour and a half south of New Orleans. I’ve never fed more than 30 at a time, so we’ll see what happens. Good thing there will be other caterers to help out.

I’ll be gone from the this Sunday until mid-June. I’ll try to keep a Food Catering blog.

Beasts of the Southern Wild – Here I come!

Who knew the two went together so very nicely? Something I love to do is make dessert love happen and I have to say that I’m fairly proud of my new dessert dumpling creations. Four delectable dumplings all paired with South-East Asian flavored inspired truffles by Vosges.

Mango Coconut Dumplings with a sprinkle of Lime zest
Pineapple and Kumquat Dumplings with some Vanilla bean and fresh Mint
Papaya and Banana Dumplings with homemade Whipped Cream
Buttered Kiwi Strawberry Dumplings with Powdered Sugar
