DRINK BEER AND EAT DUMPLINGS!

they say shrimping at night is ideal cause the shrimp can’t see the nets, otherwise they would swim around the nets. it’s really amazing seeing what they catch when the net’s lifted. the best part is that it’s a party every night, kind of like a neighborhood gathering and everyone stops by with a beer, they stand around the picking pen and grab all creatures that are not shrimp. sometimes there are eels, snakes, minnows, gar fish, baby trout, a bunch of crabs. they keep the big crabs, take out the extra large shrimp and then everything else goes into giant buckets.

the saddest part, this is probably one of the last times they’ll ever get to go shrimping or fishing. the marina that we shot at is now taken over by bp so they can station themselves there and do whatever it is that they’re doing. sad.

Thank you again for all who attended and for everyone’s well wishes and support.

Vosges event was filled with enthusiastic faces, hungry stomachs and very happy people. I’m really happy I was a part of making something delicious happen.

Photos to follow…

So I made these fluffy dumpling magnets. They’re cute and super strong to hold up all your important refrigerator door items.

Sonjia was too kind to help wrap dumplings. We made four different shaped dumplings… Mmm

Who knew the two went together so very nicely? Something I love to do is make dessert love happen and I have to say that I’m fairly proud of my new dessert dumpling creations. Four delectable dumplings all paired with South-East Asian flavored inspired truffles by Vosges.

Mango Coconut Dumplings with a sprinkle of Lime zest
Pineapple and Kumquat Dumplings with some Vanilla bean and fresh Mint
Papaya and Banana Dumplings with homemade Whipped Cream
Buttered Kiwi Strawberry Dumplings with Powdered Sugar

Thank you Vosges for allowing me to throw this festive spring event!
